We are slowly but surely working on getting the new house furnished and decorated.
While we brought a lot of our furniture from our previous home with us, there are still a lot of areas that need to be decorated. We are using our old master bedroom set for the guest room, which has allowed us to have fun with getting inspiration and making a wish list of what we want the new one to look like. I thought it’d be fun to share some images and get your input on what direction you guys think we should take!
Maybe it’s because our entire previous home was painted white, but Grant and I have been itching to go in a moodier direction, especially in our master bathroom. We are leaning toward either navy blue or a deep green.
Lately I’ve been super drawn toward bed frames that have a southern vibe to them. It’s so hard to pick between frames that are iron, wood, covered in cloth or a mixture like the one photographed below. We are trying to meet our tastebuds in the middle of modern and bohemian and are leaning toward the bed below. What are your thoughts? Of course I am still very much drawn to this exact bed, which I also also linked below. Which one do you like better?
Light fixtures are always tough for me {so are drapes!} but the right one can truly transform a room into another style. We have been leaning toward sconces because they are a bit less traditional and I want to infuse some modern/art deco vibes into the space.
If there is one thing that I know I “need” next to my bed it is a nightstand that has drawers. When we moved we didn’t have nightstands next to the bed and I felt like I was missing an arm {ha!}. But in all seriousness, if you are thinking about making the change – try living without a drawer next to the bed. This theory only really applies to those of us who have gotten used to living with a nightstand including a drawer.
