It was an ordinary week in the offices of Damsel in Dior. I had just gotten back from a friends wedding in Toronto and with no plans on the agenda for the weekend and temps rising in Los Angeles, I was yearning for some pool time. Then, as if they could read my mind, Armani Fragrances reached out to ask if I would be interested in heading to Palm Springs over the weekend to experience their new line of fragrances. Spend a weekend in Palm Springs by the pool sniffing new fragrances with a few blogger friends? Yes please! Michelle, Lisa and I all signed up for a weekend playing in the sun.
We kicked things off with an unforgettable helicopter ride from LAX to Palm Springs. The first of the three fragrances we got to sniff out was Air di Gioia {aka “Air”} which matched the flight perfectly. The scent is breezy and energizing. You can imagine spraying a scent in a helicopter would make a person feel a bit ill, but we sprayed it during our flight and it instantly put us all at ease and in vacation mode.
After settling into the incredible house we were staying in, we set out for a relaxing dinner and went to bed fairly early. The next morning we rose with the sun and had the chance to play with this vintage Mercedes. With the top down and sun in our face, the second scent of the weekend came into play which was Sun di Gioia. This fragrance smells like the sun feels when it’s hitting your face, warm, enveloping and radiant. I think this might be my favorite of the three.
Finally, the pièce de résistance, Acqua di Gioia, the scent that captures the essence of joy. I grew up a water baby and if there’s a pool around you can guarantee that I’ll be jumping into it. I thought it’d be fun to dive into the pool with the fragrance in tow because it’s a cheerful scent and I’m a cheerful person!
Special thank you to Armani Fragrances for partnering on this trip. Also, thank you to my friends at Fohr Card and to Jeremy and James for capturing these memorable moments.
