When it comes to hair care, I stick to a very basic routine. I don’t like a ton of product in my bathroom drawer and let’s be honest, I am a creature of habit.
My two favorite brushes that I’ve had for years were recommended by my hair stylist, Joseph from Meche Salon in Beverly Hills. I asked him one day to e-mail me a list of everything he uses on my hair and then I ordered it. The next time I went in, I paid extra close attention to what he was doing so that I could replicate it at home. My favorite purchase? My Elchim Blowdryer. I am obsessed!
When we renovated our bathroom, a special request was to put the plug for my hair dryer inside the drawer. I hate chords and like to avoid them showing at all costs. I like to keep my Chi straightener and Nume curling wand neatly organized. During the summer months I never use heat on my hair. I will blow dry my hair half way using low heat and let the rest air dry to give my locks a break from the hot temps.
Some readers have joked about wishing they could afford Aesop product. Allow me to let you in on one of my secrets. I love the Aesop packaging. It matches with my home and I am firm believer that the things that you see on a daily basis can truly impact the way you feel. So, I have only purchased Aesop Shampoo & Conditioner once in my life and that was 1.5 years ago. I just keep refilling these bottles with Pantene Pro-V that I purchased at CVS.
I didn’t have to talk myself into purchasing this shower cap. I could immediately picture myself wearing it, in a robe, with a glass of wine while getting ready and I was sold. Sometimes I want to jump into the shower and rinse without getting my hair wet, so I finally pulled the trigger on this shower cap. If you suffer from dry and damaged hair like I do, then please do us both a favor and get some Olaplex. My colorist, Yvonne from Meche Salon, gave me my first bottle because she loved it so much. I pile this stuff on before bed or heading to the gym. Just don’t leave it in longer than 8 hours.
When my hair is still wet I spray on this All in One Milk. Not only does it smell delicious but after testing hundreds of salt sprays, wave sprays, etc… this one works best for my hair. It leaves it with a very slight bend. I am equally obsessed with everything Ouai. Their products smell so good and this hair oil leaves the tips of my locks feeling healthy after it’s dry.
And last but not least, my hair spray and dry texturizing spray. I simply can’t leave home without spraying a touch of each into my roots to give it that messy look.
