Can you believe that the 4th of July is almost here?
It definitely feels like it snuck up on us fast – not that I’m complaining! Even though the holiday always falls on a different day of the week, my memories of the 4th are all of long weekends with family and friends involving barbecuing, swimming and fireworks.
I love using America’s birthday as an opportunity to play dress up in support of my USA pride. That doesn’t necessarily mean I’ll be decked out in red, white and blue. Scroll down to score more styling tips and inspiration on what to wear this 4th of July holiday.
Stripes on the 4th of July feel a little, well, expected. But I’m not hating on it. I love nothing more than a strong summer stripe. You could also go stripes on stripes on stripes like the sick photo above
If you are going to wear a stripe, have it be the main focus point of your outfit.
I would not suggest pairing stripes with red. Otherwise, you might end up looking like an American flag. When styling your stripes the goal should be to keep the rest of your outfit pretty simple. A cut off denim short or white linen pant will pair perfectly!
A pop of red on the 4th of July can take you a long, long way. There’s no need to go crazy with red, white and blue.
Just pick one of America’s favorite three colors and stick to it. No need to try and pull off red, white and blue all at once.
You can mix a solid color suit with cute cut-off shorts and a button down top. I also love the idea of a pop of red in your shoe or tying a bandana around your beach tote.
Just because it’s 4th of July doesn’t mean we are all heading to the beach or backyard pool BBQ. You could also play super cool girl and not rock any stripes or all-Americana style for the holiday.
There is something clean and classic about sporting a crisp black and white look for summer that will always be in style.
I love pairing a black swimsuit with white linen pants. You can even toss on a light cardigan over it for a nice layered look.
