Don’t you just love a good house dress?
Or is this a “from the south” only kind of thing? House dress, house pants, house shoes are all very common terms that we used in my house growing up and words I say on almost a daily basis. I just love the feeling of coming home and tossing on my favorite house dress to watch TV in. It sounds kind of silly, but a good house dress makes me feel right at home!
So what is a “House Dress?” It’s a very simple, comfortable dress that is worn informally in the mornings or evenings at home for household chores. The term started in the late 19th century to describe clothing that was worn at-home.
