This weekend was super active. Between bouncing around downtown Los Angeles on a surprise date with the husband to finally seeing my favorite blues singer, C.W. Stoneking, perform, there were a lot of new discoveries in Los Angeles that I made.
With a few plans up his sleeve, on Friday afternoon my husband instructed me to take the rest of the day off. We headed downtown to the newest contemporary museum in the city called The Broad.
The Cindy Sherman exhibit stole the show but I hear the Infinity Mirror Room is even better. Tickets are super hard to come by and there was a line out the door. General Admission to The Broad is free but tickets for special exhibits are $10.
We played the game of “If you could have any piece of art in your home which would it be?” Grant picked the Campbell’s Soup Can and I jokingly picked out this blue puppy.
From the museum we headed to OUE Skyspace which was a very unique and fun experience. Having no idea what we were doing, I was quite surprised to learn we would be sliding down the side of a building {on the exterior}. I wasn’t able to take photos during my slide but here’s a shot from the website to give you an idea of what it’s like.
After the death ride, kidding, we headed over to “The Last Bookstore” which was a gigantic maze of a bookstore in downtown Los Angeles. Killing a few extra minutes before dinner, we got lost in the shelves and giggled at the eccentricities of this cute store. On Saturday we went with a few friends to check out C.W.Stoneking perform. I’ve been a fan for nearly 6 years so I was excited to finally see him live. Afterwards we enjoyed dinner al fresco at a new eatery called Salazar.
How was your weekend? Did you find any new good restaurants or must see sights?
