I don’t know about you, but when I hit my 30s, I started to feel a true shift with my skin.
Just like my hangovers hurt harder, my skin started to feel dry and the years of baking in the sun started to pop up on my face, spot by spot. Boy do I wish I could rewind the clock and force myself to wear SPF 24/7. The thing is, I used to think that you only needed to wear SPF on beach days or weekends when you’re spending a lot of time in the sun. But the truth is, SPF is something you should be wearing each and every day. And as a woman in her 30s, the changes in my skincare regimen don’t stop with SPF. With your growth hormones starting to slow down, skin doesn’t repair itself as quickly as it did in your 20s {yippee}.
It’s officially time to start taking your beauty regimen seriously. So, I’ve rounded up a few top tips for every woman in her 30s to start implementing today.
While you may splurge in other areas of your beauty cabinet, SPF doesn’t have to be one of them. Unprotected skin is the number one cause of visible skin aging which starts in your 30s. My friends at Olay introduced me to their Olay Whips with SPF which is a very affordable option that can be worn every day under your makeup. The Olay Whips with SPF has both UVA/UVB protection along with active rush technology that releases 1000 times its weight in hydration!

Did you know that you can apply vitamins {A,C & E} topically to your skin to help prevent the breakdown of collagen? You should also focus on eating antioxidant-rich foods such as avocado, spinach and berries.
Your eyes are the first area that starts to show the aging process. Don’t go heavy on applying, just make sure you put eye cream on the bone just below the eye and sides. You don’t want to have the cream touch your lashes and irritate the eye.
It was a true achievement if I remembered to wash my face before bed in my 20s and then I finally adopted the makeup-wipe routine into my life. But, now that I’m officially an adult, it’s time to do a better job at actually cleansing my skin. Makeup wipes spread dirt all over your face and don’t really do a good enough job. I’ve been using a really nice cleanser that the Olay team sent me and I really feel like it gets all of the dirt off.
Not getting a good night’s rest really wears on your face. I rely heavily on getting good sleep and feel like I’m a mess when I don’t.
Special thank you to Olay for partnering on this post.
What about you? Do you have any do’s and don’ts to your skin care regimen that you can share?
