Summer 11 years ago TOP 5 HIDDEN HIDEAWAYS IN LA
Sometimes the best summer vacations are the ones you have in your own back yard.
El Capitan Canyon: Not only will the 2 hour drive up the coast from LA be absolutely breathtaking, but I hear the glamping experience at El Capitan is one of a kind!
Escondido Falls: I’ve always heard that this is one of the best hiking trails in Malibu that offers waterfalls along the way to dip in and out of. The best part about this hidden hiking trail? It’s free!
Ado Venice: Sometimes just going to a nice dinner in a cozy atmosphere can make you feel like you are miles away from all of your worries. I absolutely love Ado not only because it’s in a cute little house that’s tucked away in Venice, CA but for a moment you can pretend like you are in Venice, Italy! {Be sure to get the Tagliolini Rossi con Ragu di Quaglia in Fonduta di Taleggio… it is to die for!}
Hidden Treasures: Just a trip to Topanga Canyon will leave you feeling removed from the rest of the world in its country like vibe. A visit to Hidden Treasures has been on my list of places to see for quite some time. I can spend hours day dreaming over antiques and this place is supposed to be the créme de la créme of antique shopping.
Catalina Island: It’s always surprising when you talk to someone in LA who hasn’t heard of Catalina Island. As one of my favorite escapes from LA, Catalina is a quick ferry ride off the coast yet it feels like you are in the middle of nowhere. With plenty of fun water activities at your disposal and a quick stop at Big Olaf’s Ice Cream, you’ll be feeling relaxed in no time.
