Typically when I am in the Rockies, I am there with family. However, last week I was treated to a trip with UGG Australia and my favorite blogger girls. If you asked me a few weeks ago how close I feel to these girls my answer would be very quick to say “very close!” Like the hundreds of thousands of followers who keep in tune with their every day lives, I feel a very strong connection to who they are, what they are doing, what they eat and even how they look when they wake up! I feel like we are constantly keeping in touch in one way or another whether it be Instagram, Twitter or each others blogs. Yes, we also chat via text message and meet for the occasional lunch or dinner or two, but it wasn’t until our recent trip to Aspen that we all took the time to really get to know each other. Sitting by the fireplace, where I am typically glued to my cell phone, I found us all sitting for hours getting lost in each others stories, discussions, laughter and even debates. The way in which our conversations went adrift into the funniest topics was truly refreshing and delightful.

Needless to say our mini-vacation away from technology and the hustle and bustle of the holiday season quickly came to an end when we got home. We have, however, been texting ever since with quirky inside jokes and funny photos trying to keep the trips momentum going. I guess some things you just don’t want to end. But in a weird way, I think that is the glue that holds friendships together. The moments between moments that you can laugh about old times and start to plan the new.
