Style Tips 5 years ago Resort Classics You Need to Invest In
At the end of next month, Grant and I are hopping down to the Dominican Republic to stay at the Amanera and I couldn’t be more excited!
You guys know how much I love the Aman and it’s my (not so secret) bucket list to stay at all of their properties. So, when the Amanera reached out about visiting the Dominican Republic, how could I resist? Grant and I will taking this trip just us two, so I’m really starting to day dream about everything that I is on my packing list. It’s definitely a bit more challenging playing dress up when you’re traveling with a baby, plus packing can be very overwhelming. So when we take trips just the two of us, I feel like it’s my true moment to take the time to put together outfits and take care of my beauty routine etc…
But year after year, season after season, I always find myself including a few pieces that have stood the test of time. Without a doubt there are things in my closet that always make it into the suitcase when it comes to packing up for a beach vacation.
My #1 Long Shirt Dress
Listen, it’s not cheap. But it’s also a piece that’s been in my closet for 3 or 4 years and it’s still a favorite. The Rodebjer Shirt Dress is simply perfect. The material is just light enough but isn’t see through and it has buttons down the front and down both sides (and the back!) so you can edit the piece so many different ways. I loved it so much in white that I also purchased it in black. If you visit their website you can see the various different ways you can style the piece and how you can tie it up and twist it around differently.
The Packable Beach Hat
You guys know I’ve been a long time fan of Janessa Leone. I honestly love every single one of her amazing designs. Currently, my favorite is the packable Michon style that I literally wear with everything. There’s really no need to pack more than one hat for vacation and even though sometimes I do, I usually end up wearing this style.
A Perfect Straw Tote
I invested in a Loewe straw tote last year and I loved it so much that I purchased another one in a different color way this year. I don’t know what it is about this designer but it just feels extra special carrying this sturdy, trendy beach tote on vacation. It’s strong enough to use as your carry on for the flight too.
Sweet Sandals
Three years ago I purchased a pair of Bottega Veneta sandals and a pair of Hermés Oran sandals and I’ve literally worn both into the ground. I literally had to invest in a new pair of both because I wear them so much. If I could suggest investing in a pair of black and brown sandals that will truly last you for years to come, I cannot suggest these two enough. They go with everything and are two very classic and iconic styles that you will truly value and treasure. I promise you won’t regret this purchase.
