I am so excited to finally share the before and after reveal of our most recent home project that is sponsored by Amazon Home!
Firstly, to say that I’m obsessed with Amazon is a complete understatement which is why I was thrilled when they reached out to help us redesign the guest space in the back of our home.
{continue to scroll down reading about the project}
The garage unit already has a full bathroom and closet attached, so it’s the perfect space to have guests feel like they have a little retreat when they come for extended stays. When we moved into our new house, our old furniture didn’t really fit the aesthetic, so we put our old set in the garage which was nice for a while, but it slowly started to feel like one big “hand me down.” It also worked out really great because my mom recently rented an apartment in Los Angeles and needed (and wanted) our old stuff!
Now that we have lived here for a year, we wanted to finally complete the unit so it made sense for us on multiple levels. Our goal was to have the space to work out and also utilize the space when we don’t have guests.
We opted for a fold out couch so that when we don’t have guests staying with us, we can still use the room to hang in. Also, Grant’s stationary bike is in the front corner so this couch is a great place for me to be lazy and read while he works out.
We were torn about putting the green chair {p.s. I LOVE this green chair!} on the left side or right side, but that’s what I love most about all of these great pieces we found on Amazon Home. They are all very versatile and easy to mix and match together.
I purchased these floor cushions a few months ago to put in my living room. Then I moved them to my office for a little while and now they are living in the guest room. These might be my favorite piece of the room!
When you are working with smaller spaces it’s really important to draw the eye up and utilize storage in unlikely places.
I’m a big fan of hanging hats as art because it’s practical and cute! I also love hanging plants as an alternative to art.
Here is an alternate lay out with the green chair on the right!
