Travel 5 years ago NYC Hotel Review: 11 Howard
Traveling to New York is mucho expensive.
The hotels in the city are some of the priciest I’ve seen. It’s been many, many years since I stayed at the 11 Howard and I was excited to return on my quick 24 hour trip to the big apple this week. The last time I stayed at 11 Howard was in 2016 shortly after the hotels popular opening so I was curious if the place still held up.
In a nutshell, I really like the 11 Howard. It’s friendly on the budget and has a guiding principle of conscious hospitality which I stand behind. What does conscious hospitality mean? It means that every aspect of the hotel is designed with awareness, purpose, and thoughtful consideration PLUS they give back to charitable organizations who are doing important work. In fact, when guests book directly with 11 Howard, we donate a portion of the money to charity.
The Design Hotels sometimes can feel a little rundown after several years of opening, but that surprisingly isn’t the case with 11 Howard.
Let’s break it down to categories {scroll below}
Room Service
It is what it is. No fuss. No 5 star lavish breakfast. But it’s tasty and it’s quick and it’s easy. Listen, I don’t think people come to New York to sit in their rooms and eat room service so this hotel checks the box on what I need for my stays in NY.
Location
The location of this property in Soho couldn’t be better! You literally step on to the best streets in the area. Couldn’t ask for a better spot!
Design + Room
The rooms here are small but so is every NY hotel room. Just know this as you book and you won’t be deflated upon check in. Speaking of check in, I love how FAST their check in process is. There’s no true “front desk.” Everything is very Danish design, everything is super minimal and sleek.
Overall, I’m giving this hotel 2 big thumbs up if you’re looking for a decently priced, solid NYC hotel choice!
