This week has been nothing short of a whirlwind. I took a morning off from the shows to head out to Brooklyn for a special project that I’m cooking up. The meeting went well and hopefully I’ll be able to share the details with you soon. After that we cruised back to the city just in time for the Rebecca Minkoff Show which was amazingly different. She staged the show on a cobblestone street in Soho and had a few bloggers walk the runway, which was fun to see. J.Crew incorporated “real people” into their presentation as well. I noticed a bunch of designers adding extra touches like this to their shows this season. After a long day of shows, my bestie Catt and I rallied together some friends to have a nice dinner at Polo Bar which never disappoints. With a stomach full of the best steak I’ve ever had, we ended the night dancing at a lower east side bar called Home Sweet Home. A lot of people at the shows have been stressing about how tired they feel, but this fashion week has felt fairly energized for me. I haven’t gone out very much and I’m truly trying to enjoy each and every show I get to go to because I feel so lucky to be able to be a part of this industry.
My “Part Two” favorite show award has to go to Erin Fetherston who had a lot of pieces I could see myself easily incorporating into my wardrobe. I can’t wait for spring!
