First of all, I am still nearly speechless over my recent stay at Amanjena in Marakesh.
The incredible team a 24 Sévres invited us to visit the beautiful city of Marakesh just after our trip to Paris last week and I jumped, more like ran, toward the opportunity. I had been working with the popular retail site 24 Sévres over the past year and as a “thank you” for being a partner, they spoiled me rotten.
The funny thing is, I had put this exact hotel on my Pinterest board “Places to Go” back in March 2013 {see Pin here}! I guess it just proves the power of creating vision boards {If you build it, they will come}.

We arrived to the hotel around 11:30pm to have the manager and staff greet us with a warm welcome. When I first walked through the entrance I nearly cried. The palm trees were perfectly reflected on the pond with lights and the huge landscape of the property overwhelmed me. The photos simply do not do it justice. There was no check in process, we were quickly escorted directly to our room. When we walked into our room, Grant and I joked thinking that we were in another lobby. “So where is our room?” we laughed. “This is your room,” the gentleman replied.
Fun Fact: Rumor has it that a lot of the scenes from Sex & The City Part 2 were filmed at this hotel {including the Aiden kissing scene}.
There was a calming peace about the property. Just walking around, taking in the mesmerizing landscape made me fall in love with Morocco before we even left the property.
We honestly could have stayed in our room the entire trip. Firstly, the food was in-cred-ible. They had everything from {the best} club sandwiches to traditional Moroccan fair. We had dinner in the Moroccan restaurant on night one and it was the best dinner we had all trip {Paris included!}. There was live music and the menu options were endless. The staff was incredibly helpful and so sweet in guiding us through what to order.
I mean… our room had it’s own pool. I know… I am still in shock as to how spoiled we were. In addition to the heated pool near the spa, our pool was also heated and had plenty of lounge chairs and seating. The entire time we wished we could invited all of our friends and family over to enjoy it too {ha!}.
The above image is a view of our room from upstairs. There was a bedroom downstairs and another bedroom upstairs. There was a tranquil fountain {see the green tile in the back?} and a wood burning fire place to the right. I loved this cozy seating area where we spent a lot of our time at night.
Anyone who knows me well knows how much I love a good bath! This entire set up felt like a slice of heaven. There was a cute little table next to the tub and now I want to replicate this in my own home.
I honestly could go on and on and on about the spa, the staff and the stay at the unique and beautiful Amanjena in Marakesh. If you ever find yourself in that region of the world, I truly hope you will at least pay the property a visit for a magical Moroccan dinner. I promise it will not disappoint.
Have you been to Marakesh? Do you want to visit? I have more posts coming soon from my trip!!
