As you know, my brother is a very talented film-maker, so when he said he was coming to Paris I immediately tossed the camera to the pro.
After all, how many people get to work alongside their sibling? It was the first show of Paris Fashion Week {and my favorite}, Dior. Firstly, I am so thankful that the Dior team allowed us to venture backstage. By the time we made our way backstage, the models were already dressed and ready for the show so we made our way inside.
With vintage posters covering the walls, I was excited that my brother was able to come in before the show began to capture the interior. Even though he didn’t get to stay for the actual show, it was quite special to have him there to film and experience backstage with me.
The lights dimmed and the models protested the runway with a mix of patchwork, flower power-infused dresses and paisley prints.
As the first female artistic director at the French fashion house, Maria Grazia Chiuri has utilized Dior’s runways and collections to empower women.
This was probably the best Dior show I’ve ever attended, not only because of the outstanding collection but the amazing message that channeled 1960s advocacy for women’s equality.
As for my brother’s first ever Paris Fashion Week Show? I must say that this may not be his last – he does a much better job at vlogging than I ever could (ha!).
The show was all about '60s florals and embroidery. There were vintage posters plastered along the walls, shouting messages about women empowerment.
Thank you so much to Ylenia and Moeez for capturing these images.
