I don’t really love celebrating Valentine’s Day.
However, without fail year after year the day rolls by and my heart starts to go mushy half way through the day and I end up having to pull out a last minute plan to do something sweet for my husband. Whether your tossing together a last minute “Galentines” party or want to roll something out nice for your loved one, here are a few tips for those of us who forgot {or neglected} the holiday.
Don’t stress over everything being perfect. Just grab as many candles as you have around the house and line them up in one area for a more dramatic affect.
Anything. I don’t care if it’s an illustration of the story of your relationship or a hand-written love note. If it comes from the heart then it will be well received.
Rather than ordering take-out, cooking is a fun activity you can do with your Valentine. Turn on some tunes, bust out the bubbly and get those pots sizzling.
How many nights do you spend sitting around the coffee table playing a good ‘ole fashioned board game? Probably not as much as you’d like. My favorite is scrabble.
You’d be surprised what good lighting can do for someones mood. If you have dimmers, be sure to set them in the mid to low range or only light corners of the room with lamps.
