Sometimes people in the world fall in sync with one another.
That’s what my cab driver said to me today as I was jumping between meetings in New York. About a month ago, in effort to live a more balanced life, I decided to do three things: one for mind, one for body and one for soul. The one thing I chose to do on a weekly basis for my soul was to start back up with piano lessons. I used to play when I was younger and from time to time I pick it back up again. On my iPhone I have a “Jacey Plays” playlist that includes the songs I am trying to learn, four of which are: Aaron Zigman’s “The Notebook,” “Clare de Lune,” “I’ll be Seeing You” and “Goldbourne Road” (in that order).
When I got into the cab he had his iPhone plugged in and was playing “The Notebook.” I thought of how lovely it sounded and how I couldn’t wait to get back to LA and my lesson this week. We were stuck in a bit of traffic and the next song popped on. You guessed it, “Clare de Lune.” I think you know where this is going. He played all four of the songs I am learning, in order. I had to say something because I was in pure shock that not only we had the exact same playlist but that he was playing it at the exact moment I was in his cab.
Sometimes people in the world fall in sync with one another.
Looks like the piano lessons are already paying off because my soul has never felt more harmonized with the rest of the world.
