It’s all fun and games until the alarm starts buzzing at 6am and the tiny voices start circulating in your head, “I’ll start working out tomorrow.”
Getting up to get a workout in before work is one of the biggest battles I face. But lately, I have been finding the time to squeeze in 30 minutes of active time and I have to tell you, it’s made the biggest difference in my overall mood, energy levels and outlook on life.
Recently, Grant and I made a pact that we would set the alarm early and take morning walks. I know it sounds super lame and basic but it has really given us some nice quality time together. Our walks eventually turned into jogs and our jogs have turned into runs and before we knew it, we were that couple that was getting up early to fit in our work out. The best part about it is that we have explored more parts of our neighborhood and found new restaurants, small stores and cute houses that we didn’t know exist.
When Nike reached out about their “Feel the Air” campaign, I was immediately attracted to the concept because it was, in a way, what got us up and moving in the morning to begin with! Just the idea of exploring the unknown that may exist on our block injected excitement and inspiration. You never know what you’ll run {pun intended} into unless you get moving. My #1 tip on how to get inspired for a morning workout is to not think of it as a workout at first. Just make the goal of getting up, getting dressed and getting out the door to walk.
I am also the biggest fan of Nike! They sent me this new color of Nike Air Max sneakers early and I loved them so much that I also surprised Grant with a pair for our morning routine together. Now we are not just that couple who works out together, but we match too {ha!}. The shoe feels very light, bouncy and inject energy into your step the moment you put them on.
Thank you to Nike & ShopStyle for for partnering on this post!
