We all have fears in life.
The other day I took a poll on my Instagram and asked what some of the things that you guys fear most are. The answers ranged from fear of flying, heights, snakes and elevators, to death, living with sadness and regret. Reebok recently reached out asking me to partner on their “Be More Human” campaign and I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to open the discussion of our fears as women and how we conquer them.
One of the biggest fears I have in life is regret. I feel anxiety over what I may or may not look back on, wishing or hoping I would have done things differently. When I put them on paper, my fears of regret seem silly. That is kind of the trick with fears though isn’t it? It seems like every time we face a fear head on, they dissipate.
My therapist always asks me “What is the worst that could happen?” when I share my fears with her. It’s honestly a great question to ask yourself over and over and over again when you are getting wrapped up with the idea of fear. She then encourages me to visit an activity that makes me feel connected to my most authentic self. For me, I feel stronger when I’m doing some sort of physical activity outdoors. It offers me with a time to clear my mind and truly fuel me in the most empowering way possible. When I am doing something active, I honestly feel like I can do anything, and that is what the “Be More Human” campaign is all about – empowering women through fitness.
When we feel better, we do better and we can make the world around us a better place.
The “Be More Human” campaign celebrates women who transform the world around them. By purchasing one of their cute tanks/tees, proceeds proudly fuel BOKS, a free physical activity program that helps physically, mentally and socially improve the wellbeing of our children {the next generation!}. You can also donate in sweat {click here to learn more}.
All in all, I think the best way to conquer your fears is to face them. What are your fears and how do you plan to conquer them?
Special thank you to Reebok for partnering on this post.
