Last weekend I partnered up with Intermix and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles to help raise funds for their March Matters initiative.
It was a very nice & easy way to give back to the community and I have been thinking a lot about how I can use my time to help others on a more regular basis. Outside of my involvement at Downtown Women’s Center, I am going to sign up for Children’s Hospital’s Third Thursday program where you get to read to kids and help out around the hospital. No matter what the cause, I have always been involved with some sort of charitable program since High School. I don’t really share my story with Downtown Women’s Center much because it sometimes feels weird posting about that sort of thing, and I honestly don’t want people thinking I’m just doing it for attention.
However, I really wanted to encourage all of you to get involved with your community in some way, even if it’s small. You can always offer donations online, donate old clothing and home goods to Goodwill, or participate in the hundreds of walks/runs that take place.
Are you guys involved in any volunteer programs? Leave a comment below promoting your favorite cause.
I wore this outfit to the Intermix x Children’s Hospital Los Angeles event and it was the perfect easy, breezy look for an afternoon of shopping for charity.
