Outfits 8 years ago Dreamland
I have crazy lucid dreams.
It’s something I have talked to numerous experts and friends about, but last week I had an abnormal lucid dream that linked to this particular outfit that I had to share.
I was running through a very large field of tall, green grass. As I stopped to listen for what sounded like a siren, I curled up in a ball trying to shield myself from what could potentially be a threat. I tucked away inside my trench coat and was immediately transported to to a beach. It was the most beautiful beach I had ever seen. I walked calmly, slowly and yet confused. I remained in the trench but had a bikini on underneath. I smiled in memory of my recent trip to Loreto, Mexico because this magnificent place looks very similar to the beach we were on. I glanced in the distance at a sail boat and it began to charge the shore with a giant wave following it. I was being attacked. I tucked down back into my trench and instantly found myself at home in bed. Squirming around in my soft linen sheets my toes searched for a sign of comfort. My foot found his and I knew that I was safe. My eyes began to open and a smile crossed my face upon the realization that I was still wearing my favorite robe from the night before that ironically felt like a trench.
When we get dressed every day, we are very much putting on a shield to go out and face the world. The imaginative girl in me likes to believe that our clothes can transform us to be wherever we want to be in life . . .whether it be a beach, a field or in the comfort of our own bed. I spoke a bit about this in a recent documentary series on FYI channel called “Inspired By.” I hope that each and every day that you get dressed that you are dressing for the way you want your day to end.
I want mine to end happy and in the arms of the one I love.
