Every year my family takes a scuba diving trip to Cozumel. It’s my absolute favorite trip of the year because it serves not only as time to get some R&R but it allows for true quality time with my family that I rarely get because they all live in Texas.

Year after year, we try to find new hidden spots & favorite eateries. But somehow our list always stays consistent and we always keep going back to the following list of favorites.

Best Margaritas: Wet Wendy’s // The best part about the margarita’s from Wet Wendy’s is that you can get them in a huge “to go” cup.

Best Nachos & Best Beach Bar: Coconuts // This is probably one of my favorite bars in the world. It’s super duper chill, completely off the beaten path {you’ll need to rent a car to drive to the other side of the island} and has a very relaxed vibe. I could get lost playing the washer game & laughing at the witty signs and oohing over the animals.

Best fried shrimp, live music & sunset {yes, all in one}: Moneybar // If you are looking for that perfect picturesque spot to take in the sunset, have some great entertainment and yummy food, then Moneybar is hands down the best spot in Cozumel for all three!

Best beach day drinking with water toys: Mr. Sanchos // Mr. Sanchos is great for a day filled with a boozy lunch and playing on the water toys just off the beach.

Best food & overall ambiance: Guido’s // Our favorite restaurant on the island is, hands down, Guido’s. Be sure to order the sangria and garlic bread. I promise it will not disappoint.

Best scuba: Aldora // Every time we head down to Cozumel we always dive with our favorite shop, Aldora. They take us to the best coral reefs that Cozumel has to offer. This trip we made a special day adventure over to the Cenotes in Playa del Carmen and it was a trip to remember.

 

Best place to stay: Casa Refugio // Year after year, my family absolutely loves renting out Casa Refugio. It’s very well taken care of, has a sick pool & plenty of room for us to open our annual scuba diving trip up to the entire family & close friends.
