As 2014 comes to a sweet end, I find it exceptionally important to look back.
We must all take a moment to reflect on the past year, and the blessings & challenges we were faced with. I’m a firm believer in taking the good, the bad and combining them to learn how to grow & become a better person both inside and out. I had a wonderful year & here are a few of the highs & lows that pop out in my mind from 2014 {I like to start with lows so we can end on a high note}:
Lows
The night my husband got a call that his Grandpa Ollie had passed // Sitting in the hospital passing a kidney stone // Waking up in NYC feeling especially homesick and lost // Holding my best friend as she wept of heartache // Moving 3 times and feeling unsettled // Accepting that people change // Questioning // The day in Central Park that felt like nothing // Traveling alone to NY 9 times
Highs
The moment my husband arrived in Paris. I fell more in love with him as I looked down from the terrace at him waiting in front of the apartment door // The day we closed escrow on our first house // When the flight attendant offered me champagne on my flight to Sydney, Australia. It was official. // Holding my best friends baby {Mabel} for the first time // Sitting inches away from Bill Cunningham at the Tory Burch show, watching him work // Walking into the Dior Show at Paris Fashion Week // Calling my parents on 3-way and hearing them say how proud of me they are // Jumping up and down to Zedd “Clarity” at Coachella never feeling more alive // Reading a sweet text from my aunt Jenda on Christmas eve // Traveling alone to NY 9 times // My blog.
In the end, with what you feel are the lowest of lows and the highest of highs, life is a roller coaster. When things seem as though they can’t go up they always will {and vice versa}. That is life’s one guarantee: There will always be change.
Cheers to making changes in 2015.
