I recently did a closet clean out in preparation for spring and it felt so great to give my wardrobe a refresh and get back to basics.
At the start of each season I like to make sure I have plenty of staple pieces that I know I’ll get a lot of use out of. It’s always great to have pieces that are easy to mix and match and layer. Typically, I like to stick to neutrals, however it’s always fun to throw in a little color or a print that’s not too loud.
Below I’ve rounded up some of my favorite basics and closet staples to have on hand for spring and summer.

Shirts & Blouses
From a crisp cotton button down to a silky blouse, these tops are total staples in my spring wardrobe.
Shorts & Skirts
A tailored short is a must-have for spring and summer, as are skirts that are easy to dress up or down.
Tees & Sweaters
Spring is the time to get rid of raggedy tees and sweaters with holes. Replace them with fresh new basics in all your favorite neutrals – including stripes of course!
Pants
Wide leg, skinny, cropped, denim, linen, silk – there are so many amazing options for spring pants right now.
Dresses
Make sure to have a few easy dresses that you can accessorize a multitude of ways. I get so much use out of silky slip dresses and shirt dress.
Blazers & Jackets
You know I love a great blazer and now is the time to swap in blazers in lighter fabrics like linen into your closet. You can also never go wrong with a chic trench or classic denim jacket.
