Rather than saying the right thing, I vow to becoming the right thing.
In addition to the work we are doing within the walls of our home as parents, community members and within our family and friend circles, I find it necessary to offer this pledge for Damsel Inc. business as we move forward.
A very important part of driving meaningful change is listening to the experiences of BIPOC content creators, business owners and communities. I am doing this in many ways, including adding diversity to the influencers I follow and work with on projects, tuning into webinars and workshops such as the “Raising Race Conscious Children Workshop” and amplifying BIPOC voices on my social media platforms and this blog.
We are made better by the diversity that exists within our communities, including our online communities. As we move forward, our values are centered on creating a space where every reader feels welcome, respected and accepted.
Thoughtful Activism
I am devoted to the calling of dismantling inequality and racial injustice by focusing on changing policy, not people. As I move forward, I have partnered with Vote.org and I am committed to using my time, resources and social media platforms to encourage others to exercise their political engagement, increase voter turnout and strengthen American democracy.
Brand Selection
I will work closely with brand partners to ensure our sponsored and non-sponsored content is reflecting a narrative that is inclusive of our multi-cultural world. I will advocate for Women of Color for influencer partnerships and brand events. This includes requesting company mission statements and policies from our brand partners to ensure their values are in tune with Damsel Inc. This also includes proactively working with BIPOC – owned businesses to dismantle inequality through opportunity.
Representation
As Damsel Inc. continues to grow, we are committed to hiring diverse talent to ensure all points of view are represented from within our company.
Donations
Ongoing contributions are being made on behalf of Damsel Inc. to the following organizations: NAACP Legal Defense & Education Fund, ACLU. Our additional ongoing giving is focused on organizations that help families in need, such as Baby2Baby, New Hope Initiative, LA Downtown Women’s Shelter and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Damsel Inc. is a member of the Female Founder Collective.

Significant change does not happen overnight. As our efforts evolve, I will be updating this page.
