Outfits 10 years ago About Time
My first time in a foreign country goes something like this.
I was 18 years old and my brother invited me on a unplanned trip to Rome, Italy. Neither of us had ever been anywhere outside of the country {minus a few border towns of Mexico that lined Texas} so our adventure seemed reckless, exciting and completely spontaneous. He called me on a Friday, asked me to join him, and a few weeks later I found myself stepping on Italian soil. Rome was vibrant; the city was exciting and new. We were enthralled by the change in culture, boundless historical monuments and friendly atmosphere. Not having any experience with “jet lag,” we started our evening with a delicious dinner at “Alfredo’s” {one of my all time favorites in Rome}. This was followed by a few drinks in Piazza Navona and before I knew it, I noticed a bit of light surfacing the horizon and looked down at my watch to find it was nearly 6am!
How on Earth did this happen!? The memory makes me laugh to this day.
Often times I often wonder why people “gift” watches so much. My husband gave me a nice watch on our wedding day to remember the day. I think that people not only gift watches so that every time you look at them you remember the person that gave it to you; Watches are a special piece because think of the many times you have looked at your watch in awe at how quickly an amazing day, or an unforgettable night, has passed you by. That’s the thing about time, it flies by when you are having fun!
Speaking of fun, I popped into Nordstrom recently {talk about a sick watch collection!} and scooped up this playful piece by Michael Kors. I needed something a little less dressy than the watch I currently have so I went with a bold, more masculine watch. I’m going to have a few links taken out, but I love how it can serve as a statement piece on my arm.
