As someone who doesn’t live in a cold climate, I certainly have strong feelings when it comes to outerwear.
I also have a silly amount of coats in my closet but when it really boils down to it, I’m always reaching for the same one. While it’s easy to get wrapped up in the ho-hum of the holidays, trendy puffer jackets and other ski trip essentials, there is one staple that I stand by. It is the strongest purchase you can make for the cold weather season and that is a classic cool camel coat that is essential for your wardrobe. When I say “cool” I mean cool in the color of camel – not too tan … almost entirely white!
Last year I dropped some savings on the coat photographed below by Mansur Gavriel. It was an over $1K purchase that was worth every penny. You’ve probably seen me wearing it a lot on my “Daily Looks” outfits and that’s because it is hands down my favorite coat I own. In the photos below I’m wearing it on a very chilly day in Paris, but it’s also the perfect cashmere weight that can also be worn in warmer climates such as Los Angeles without feeling too heavy. Needless to say, I love this coat. Mansur Gavriel still makes this exact style in a few other colors and they make some pretty incredible other alternatives as well so be sure to check out their website.
I’ve also linked to a few more nearly white and darker camel coats and light tan options within this post.
What is your favorite?
