I usually steer away from too much sheer, but this polka dot top was too good to resist.
If you’re going sheer, make sure you’re showing off something pretty. Whether you want to be a little more bold and wear a lacy bra or keep it a little bit more conservative with a silky camisole, make sure that what you’re wearing underneath is something you’d want to show off.
If you’re a little intimidated by wearing a sheer top, try layering over it with a black top. I tried this layering idea when I was in Paris awhile back and ended up really loving the look.
This may just be more of my personal preference, but if you are wearing something sheer, you’re already making a little bit of a statement. Staying neutral keeps your outfit from going over the top and being too flashy or look like you’re trying too hard.
In addition to keeping things on the more neutral side, I recommend keeping the rest of your outfit more classic, by pairing your top with a tailored short or pant. It’s all about balance!
