It is officially my favorite season of the year!
After enjoying some nice fall weather in Paris last week, I was so happy that LA is finally getting a little taste of it too. I’m loving cooler mornings, cozy sweaters and snuggles with Polly {who is very protective over the bump}. It’s the perfect time to remind myself to slow down and really savor these days before we head into holiday madness. In an attempt to make the most of Autumn, I made a little list of things I want to do before the season is over.
What’s on your list?
You may not be able to get to do some 'leaf-peeping' this season {depending on where you live}, but the Fall is the perfect time to get outside and enjoy nature and your surroundings before it gets too cold. Go for a hike, go to a game, soak in that crisp autumn air. Cozy sweaters are, of course, mandatory.
You might have a closet full of Fall sweaters right now {although you can never have too many}, but now is the time to add more coziness to your home with some new knit throws and textured pillows - perfect for movie night by the fire.
Go apple picking at a nearby farm, then make something with them {I recommend some kind of apple crumble}. If you don't live near a place to go apple or pumpkin picking, visit your local farmers market and scope out the best Fall produce to bake with and make some of your favorite autumnal recipes.
I'm not necessarily one that loves the typical 'Fall' scented candle {a lot of them are too sweet for me}, but I love switching up my summery candles {and fragrances} for richer and muskier scents that make my home extra cozy.
With football season ramping up, it's a great time to get your friends and family together for a little 'Game Day Gathering' with your favorite Fall recipes and treats. Don't worry if you're not really into sports, I mostly use 'Game Day' to socialize with my friends...
Perfect a hearty chili or soup recipe that will become your go-to meal all season long {and into the Winter.} There's nothing better than a delicious bowl of chili on a crisp and cool Fall evening.
With Thanksgiving just around the corner, it's the perfect time of year to give thanks and express our gratitude for all that we have. Keep a daily journal {you know I love my journal} of things you are grateful for. I guarantee it will make your days better, even if the stress of the holidays starts to get to you.
Speaking of thanks and gratitude, take time this Fall to 'pay it forward' and do some good deeds. Donate to charity, volunteer, pay for someone's coffee - there are so many different ways {big and small} do to this and make someone's day!
