I can’t quite put my finger on it, but the past few months have left me feeling rather drained. Honestly, I was a bit confused because I boycotted New York & Paris in exchange for a nice, long vacation to Mexico instead.
Remember a few months ago when I shot a video with Ole Henriksen? Well, he was so incredibly inspiring for me in teaching his ways of obtaining “inner glow” and how it’s just as important as our “outer glow.” Feeling frustrated, it finally occurred to me to mix up my home routine in hopes for a positive change. After a few weeks of following these small changes in my daily routine, I’ve finally started to feel higher energy levels and a more positive overall well being.
1: Take as many baths as humanely possible.
Okay all jokes aside, baths can really work wonders for your mind, body and soul. I probably take around 4 baths per week and I use it as “me time” to catch up on a good book, do my favorite Ole Henriken Power Peel or even just listen to some tunes and sip champagne. Don’t have a bath? Steam up your bathroom with a hot shower and play spa.
My favorite way to unwind after a long day is by taking a bath and my favorite thing to do in baths is test out face masks. I'm obsessed with this new kit from Ole H. because it's very easy to follow. It's a 1-2-3 step process that leaves your face feeling extra dewy with an extra glow.Shop Now
2: Guzzle, Guzzle that H2O
Another thing I’ve added to my routine is to guzzle water all day every day. It’s amazing how big of a difference water has had on my skin!
3: Smell Sweetness
Scent can have such an empowering effect on your overall attitude and mood. I love nothing more than when people walk into my house and say that it smells nice. I strive to have one candle and one candle only burning in my home to really drive home my “signature scent.”
4: Find Your Hobby
One of Ole Henriksen’s strongest pieces of advice for awakening your inner glow is to make time to do the things that make you happy. For me, it’s playing piano and drawing. It’s so easy to forget to make time for your hobbies but it truly does make a huge difference in your overall mood.
5: Organized Life = Organized Mind
Stress shows on your skin. It shows on your forehead, your neck, your cheeks and your eyes. I find that making lists makes it much easier to manage all of the chaos that’s happening in my brain on a daily basis. It’s the first thing I do when I wake up and the last thing I do when I go to bed.
Special thank you to Ole Henriksen for your positive energy, insightful knowledge about skin care and incredible products that I’ve come to love. Here are a few more favorites by Ole that I would strongly suggest trying.
