When it comes to Spring cleaning, where is the first place that you start?
Spring cleaning starts with purging everything out of my space that no longer serves me. I love devoting a weekend to clearing clutter from bookshelves and coffee tables, and cleaning out closets around the entire house. Then and only then can I start the more fun process of styling and decorating for the new season.
What 5 things do you always do when spring cleaning?
- Dust all flat surfaces, including the insides of kitchen cabinets.
- Purge old makeup and beauty products.
- Clean out the insides of purses – use a damp cloth to get in crevices and corners.
- Toss strappy sandals from lasts summer that have seen too much wear and tear.
- Buy new house plants to fill the air with fresh oxygen.
What is something that no one technically needs in their house?
Gifted items that you are holding on to out of obligation and don’t actually have any attachment to.
If you had to clear out your whole closet and only keep 5 pieces to wear, what would they be?
- Adidas Stan Smiths
- Feminine blouses from Sezane
- Frame Boyfriend Jeans
- Outdoor Voices leggings
- Jenni Kayne cashmere fisherman sweater
What are your favorite places to shop for furniture?
I’ve found so many great pieces for my home at West Elm, Serena & Lily, Target, and for the bigger splurgier buys, Restoration Hardware. Then I love to fill in with accessories and art I find from independent makers on Etsy.
Thank you so much Camille for helping us with your tips on spring cleaning! I don’t know about you guys but I feel ready to tackle some heavy cleaning this weekend!
