The light will always find a way to get through, so long as there is a crack in the foundation. I couldn’t help but to close my eyes in reflection of my previous trip to the famous “Cenotes” that exist among the Riviera Maya area. Cenotes are natural swimming holes formed by the collapse of porous limestone bedrock, which has reveled a secret subterranean world of groundwater pools. On my last adventure here, I was fortunate enough to have gone into a Cenote {scuba diving} where I was lost in the dark cave system that exists beneath the beautiful blue waters above. The entire experience was quite magical. On my more recent trip {as seen in these photos}, I stood above the intimidating hole that naturally formed in the ground, staring at the gloomy eclipse. It felt like yesterday that I was swimming below in the darkness. And here I found myself, standing tall in the light. I suppose it goes to show you that everything in our lives can be experienced in a different way depending on the way you choose to look at it. One day I was viewing the Cenote from below, among the darkness and profoundly rooted rock that seemed to swallow me whole. The next day, I soared above the intimidation that stared me straight on and accepted its challenge.
