If you asked me a week ago to give you my thoughts on picnics I would chuckle and say I hated picnics. If you asked me today, I would cheerfully tell you that if you are ever in Los Angeles during the summer/fall months that you absolutely must go to the outdoor cemetery screening in Hollywood. I’m embarrassed that I have lived in Los Angeles for 11 years and this weekend was my first time. This was hands down one of the best things I’ve done all summer. We saw Stand By Me which made me feel like a kid again. I remember this moving being so scary as a child!
On a side note: There has been a tote bag that I have been carrying around all summer that deserves some love. I packed up the entire picnic in this tote and realized that it’s been my go to when I need to haul around a ton of stuff for beach days, pool days, weekend getaways or even random blog shoot. This isn’t sponsored in any way, but I’m just a genuine fan of the Bamfield Tote {$65}. It’s very simple and chic and can fit your entire life inside.
Okay, back to business: Friday night consisted of a little stay-cation at the Chateau Marmont which is one of the coolest hotels in LA. My brothers came by on Saturday afternoon for some lunch and lounging by the pool. This may be my new favorite pool in Los Angeles. It’s super chill vibes are exactly what the doctor ordered this weekend.
Here are a few snaps from my weekend – What did you do?
