Every season during NYFW I try and attend a show of a new designer, or at least new to me. This year that meant swinging by The Art Institutes Show which featured the crème de la crème of their students and I must say that I was genuinely impressed. It’s very easy to get wrapped up in the Vera Wang and Ralph Lauren’s of the world, but to sit directly across from these bright and shining faces of fresh talent felt like I was a part of something truly special. Not only was the excited energy in the room contageous, but it felt nice to be reminded of all of the blood, sweat and tears that go in to each and every collection that a designer creates.
