Favorites in Soho

The Mercer Hotel

One of my favorite places to stay in New York is The Mercer in Soho. I’ve only had the pleasure of staying at this hotel a couple of times but is hands down the best service of any other hotel I have ever stayed at. I will legit call down for toothpaste and within seconds someone is knocking at my door with a smile and a tube of paste. It’s truly fascinating how quickly they respond to any and all requests.

While I was in the city recently for the new Tory Sport store opening, Ralph Lauren Home Instagram Launch & appearing on Amazon Style Code Live {triple threat!}, I had a day off to do some shop-hopping and exploring around Soho. I thought I’d share a few new favorites I discovered.

SHOP: McNally Bookstore

I’ve mentioned this unique bookstore in a post before & now it is my regular “go to” when it comes to shopping. Even if I’m not in the market for a new book, this cute coffee and nick-nack shop.

EAT: Charlie Bird

My mouth is watering just thinking about this delicious Italian eatery. I sat next to an older man who had a strong order and when I asked him what it was he replied that it was the “Special” that had pheasant. He said his friend, who is a chef on the west coast, strongly suggested any of the dishes with pheasant. I took his advice and can still taste it! Ugh, I’m homesick for this place.

DRINK: Nitecap

It might not be brand new, but this speakeasy on the lower east side is definitely new to me. I love opening a door to a cozy bar that’s located directly downstairs where you’ll find carefully constructed cocktails and a healthy menu by liquor of choice.
