Raise your hand if you clearly stated in your New Year’s Resolutions for 2017 that you would be in the best shape possible by summer and it’s May and you are officially freaking out {my hand is raised}. I have had a seriously difficult time this season getting motived to move my butt off of the couch and get to work in the gym. With cozy winter nights by the fireplace, with a bowl of pasta and bottle of vino, my post holiday workout regime hasn’t gotten very far. As I am slowly gearing up to kick things into summer body shape, I found that the best motivation is to get yourself some new cute workout gear. Insert: Peony and Me.
I am beyond excited to be recently introduced to this new killer workout line. Peony and Me has really edgy, cool pieces that feel very tailored to women. I am absolutely obsessed with the mesh top they sent because it’s not too sheer and it’s super breathable. Peony and Me pieces are perfect for jumping around town pre or post workout too. And, if you just so happen to not want to leave the couch at all, I’ve included 6 moves below that can be done from the comfort of your living room.
Now let’s do this ladies!
One of the first things my trainer makes me do in the gym are lunges. You can do a total of 20 lunges (10 on each side) and repeat this three times.
To carve out that booty even more, squats are the quickest and easiest way to tone up. I will literally do as many as I can possible take and repeat this three times.
In between legs and arms, I mix things up with scissor kick sit ups. I do 20 total and repeat this three times. (Are you noticing a theme?)
I really hate side planks, but the more I do them the more I see immediate results. To carve out your sides, try holding this position for 30 seconds on each side (then repeat 3x).
This is one of my favorite moves because you are holding the position which tones your arms, and doing tiny leg lifts which firms your glutes. It kind of tricks your mind about which is hurting more (ha!). I do 10 leg lifts on each side and then repeat 3 times.
Last but not least, put that couch to good use by doing a few dips on commercial breaks. Lower yourself up and down 20 or so times and repeat.... you guessed it, three times.
Special thank you to Peony and Me for partnering on this post.
