Uncategorized 13 years ago We're Moving
It may surprise you to know that before moving in with the husband 3.5 years ago, I’ve moved 20 {yes, twenty} times since I left my parents house in Texas when I was 18.
20 Moves in 8 Years = 2.5 moves per year!
I honestly think that I moved around so much because nowhere ever felt quite like “home” to me. Well, after 8 years and 20 moves, on February 4, 2009 I found my “home.” Believe it or not I’ve never liked change. I love nothing more than family traditions and having things like Christmas dinner happen at the same time, same place and with the same people year after year. So, when my Mister and I started talking about taking the next step and moving into a house, I must say it has been very hard to let go of our absolutely incredible home.
How can I be so sad to say goodbye? It’s just steel, wood and a bit of paint that makes a home. But the memories we’ve made here over the past years have been life changing……
This is the home where Damsel in Dior was born. It has served as the beautiful backdrop and inspiration of all of my blogging photo’s and video shoots.
This is the place where my husband and I shared our first kiss, where he proposed, we planned our entire wedding and where we made our family with William & Polly.
This is the home that gave me courage. Courage to leave home to do volunteer work in Africa and travel to places I never dreamed of because I always knew I had this place to come back to.
Holidays, Birthday Parties, Champagne Thursdays, SuperBowl Sundays, Family Movie Night’s, laughter, tears, dancing and happiness are what took place within these walls.
It will be hard to let go of this home, but the memories we’ve made here will be taken with us. After all, home is definitely where the heart is.
Home – is where i want to be
But i guess i’m already there
I come home – -she lifted up her wings
Guess that this must be the place
I can’t tell one from another
Did i find you, or you find me?
There was a time before we were born
If someone asks, this where i’ll be . . . where i’ll be
{P.S. If you’d like to find humor in this, because that’s always what my husband and I like to do, you’ll be amused to learn that we are literally moving just down the street}
