You may have noticed that I posted this dress to Instagram yesterday as I was leaving LA for NY. I’ve been living in it lately. A woman at the airport politely complimented my outfit and it reminded me of a blog post idea that I’ve been meaning to tackle that a friend suggested.
Travel Rituals that make flying exceptionally fun and pleasant {the way traveling should be}
- Music. From the first step into LAX to my last one out of JFK, there are headphones in my ears. You would be so surprised by how big of a difference drowning out the security guards yelling, babies crying and loud speakers blasting can be.
- Always, always kindly ask at the check-in counter if there is a better seat option. You never know.
- Mophie’s are life savers. I travel with 2 back up batteries for my phone. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve been stuck in an airport due to delays and all of the outlets are taken. Give yourself peace of mind and always have a back up plan.
- Drink water! I always buy a huge bottle of water and make it my goal to at least finish 1 before landing at my destination. Water prevents bloating & puffiness caused during flights.
- If you travel with a laptop or iPad, always make sure to have a movie, TV Show or book on hand in case the monitors and/or entertainment screens on board do not work. Again, I’ve found myself counting on watching the on-board movies and when I found out no entertainment options were offered, along with no wifi, I learned this lesson the hard way.
- If you are traveling during peak holiday seasons or are at the airport noticing delays and canceled flights, better stock up on some snacks in case you get stranded on the runway for an hour or two. Always plan ahead to prevent moments of panic.
- Close the airplane toilet before you flush it. It’s a lot less noisy and it is considerate to the next passenger.
- I like to put everything in separate bags in my carry on. Chargers go in one bag, lotions in another, pens and notepad in another, and so forth. It feels cleaner and allows you to grab exactly what you are looking for quicker. Shoe and hand bag dust bags are perfect for this.
