As the leaves slowly begin to change color, there are a few changes I make to my closet as well.
Nothing entirely major. In fact a lot of the key pieces I add into my wardrobe for fall are staples that everyone needs and that will last for many seasons to come. Before I decided to invest in any major purchase for a new season, I head over to my favorite retailers websites, such as Saks, to see what’s on their fall edit list.

A Sweater Dress
The first piece I transition into fall with is an easy sweater dress. It can be paired with strappy sandals for a night out on the town or with over the knee boots or booties. Not only is this piece incredibly versatile but it can be worn in various types of autumn climates.
Light Layering Pieces
I have a super thin sweater that I’m constantly using underneath slip dresses, chunky sweaters and even worn by itself. At first I thought the thin material would feel too clingy for me but it’s one of those pieces I always reach for when layering.
Vegan Leather
If you aren’t already investing in vegan leather, you need to get on board. I love a leather skirt or dress and vegan leather is so incredibly soft. Trust me, this skirt is a piece you need for fall and winter. You can pair it with your light sweater and wear it for all sorts of occasions. Throw on the heels I’m wearing {classic, love!} to dress it up or dress it down with some booties.
Fancy Sleeves
Whether it’s a blouse or a cool knit, designers are getting really creative with the sleeves on their tops and this is a trend that I can stand behind. Investing in a sweater that has the extra detail of a puffy sleeve can really elevate any ordinary outfit.
Croc + Snakeskin Boots
You guys know how much I’m loving snakeskin and croc boots for fall. It’s my new favorite accessory and such a wonderful addition to any closet. You can wear these boots with skinny jeans or pants, with a dress or a mini skirt.
