Decor Tips 5 years ago Holiday Home Reveal
You may or may not have noticed a few glimpses of our new living room / dining room set up on my social media channels. I’ve been waiting to do an official reveal of our new mini-makeover of the space until we had everything just right. I went super minimal on the holiday decor this season because we won’t be in town to celebrate this year and are honestly just a fan of the cleaner look. The main changes we made were investing in new rugs and a new couch. Aside from that, everything else are pieces we already had from other areas of the house.
I think the biggest change and greatest addition to the space was inviting an Echo Plus into our lives. I have a few friends that were singing the Echo Plus major praises. I’d be chatting on the phone and hear them say “Alexxxaaaa!” feeling a ping of jealousy. I cannot tell you how excited I was when Amazon sent me the Echo Plus to test out. All I can say is: I am obsessed! After a long day of work, I stroll through the door asking Alexa to “Turn on the tree lights” or during a TV show ask Alexa to “Call my brother.” I didn’t really think about the difference in my life that this Amazon Echo Plus would play but I cannot imagine going back. It sets reminders, plays music, gives you the weather… pretty much anything you can think of all just by using your voice! I particularly love how my new Echo Plus can turn on my Christmas tree lights, lock doors and control plugs. Our home is getting smarter and smarter every day! All you have to say is “Alexa, discover my devices” and you can connect smart home devices.
