Decor Tips 9 years ago Flooring
Ever since the first time I stepped foot in a Soho House I was obsessed with the floors.
All of the houses raw, wooden floors mimic one another and I always swore that if I could pick out hardwood flooring that I would copy this design. Come to find out it is mucho expensive and depending on your style, the unfinished, natural flooring doesn’t work for every house. As we are in the early, early stages of the house renovation, conversations have started about what types of flooring we will want in all of the rooms. Here is a quick round up of my current favorites.
I am pretty anti-carpet so I am hoping we can pull off hard wood floors in every room. I like the idea of softening up the living room by adding a huge area rug, or layers lots of smaller rugs, for a cozier feel.
Dark vs. Light. I feel like this is the question of our lives at the moment. Choosing dark or light hardwood floors feels a lot like I’m picking between silver or gold jewelry. I feel like one is always “in style” and they go back and forth season after season.
I am obsessed over this floor {and p.s. every house needs a cowhide rug}. Since we have William & Polly I have been leaning toward lighter hardwood.
Who says you have to get tile or wood? Right now I am really loving the idea of having cement floors. I think it looks incredibly chic & modern!
