Uncategorized 11 years ago Finding Shimmer
My grandmother was a genealogist, a historian, a collector of things she found meaningful and a story teller. When I left for college at age 18 she gifted me with a beautiful sparkly opal necklace that her husband had once given her. When she left this world at age 90 she gifted her family with meaningful mementos.
Granny left behind a big box filled with hundreds of love letters between she & my grandfather pre, during and post WWII. Each note was written during their courtship, as they got engaged and in the earlier years of marriage. I have been working on transcribing the near 200 letters in hopes of having it completed by the holidays.
In conjunction with Granny’s sparkly spirit & the letter project, I recently partnered up on another shimmery project with Banana Republic!
There is something truly special about the holiday season. It can bring out mixed emotions of sadness and joy, hope and helplessness. Granny was a believer in all things magical. Much like Granny’s radiant demeanor, I have started to add more classic and cheery pieces to my wardrobe to spark a happy holiday season. Being a firm believer that the way we dress can move the way we feel, I am happy to team up with Banana Republic’s Shimmer Shop in hopes to add a bit of shimmer & shine to your holiday wardrobe too!
As the holiday season approaches my heart feels Open For Joy just as Banana Republic & my Granny’s sparkling spirit have inspired it to be.
