One of my favorite quotes of all time is from the movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off: “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” It was also my high school graduation quote. It is so easy to get caught up in the quick pace in the game of our lives. So, I thought I would pay a visit to one of my favorite museums, The Art Institute of Chicago, with my favorite photographer, James Nord to slow things down a bit. You can learn a lot about a person by visiting a museum together. Do they take their time breathing in each and every piece of art work? Do they take an audio tour? Do they bounce around all over the place, not truly caring why they are there or who painted what? Luckily, both James and I march to the beat of the same ADD drum. We hit up the top 5 pieces to see {The bedroom, A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte, American Gothic, Nighthawks (James’ favorite) and (my favorite) The Old Guitarist} and then called it a day with beers by the river.
