Contrary to popular belief, the husband and I very rarely get to escape somewhere for a weekend just us two. One of the places that has been at the top of our travel wish list for quite some time has been the Montage Laguna Beach. We had this particular weekend set aside for a sweet getaway just us two, and a trip to Laguna Beach was just what the doctor ordered.
Not only were we able to bring our pups with us, but the Montage Laguna Beach was a quick, one – hour drive from where we live in Los Angeles. Immediately upon arrival we felt spoiled with the best spicy margarita I’ve ever had and a delicious lunch poolside {I got nachos, naturally}. After settling in I tested out the incredibly soft bed and found it extremely hard to part ways with it. I could literally live in this bed. Wow. We strolled down to the beach and I noticed how peaceful the surroundings were. There were children playing in the distance, dogs being walked along the coastline and a breathtaking view. What I liked the most was that there were plenty of activities to participate in, yet you didn’t feel lazy for just kicking back on the beach either {which was the #1 thing on our agenda}. The Montage Laguna Beach truly appeals to everyone. Girls wanting a spa vacation, couples with no kids, couples with kids, runners, surfers, relaxation seekers . . . We fell in the latter part: Married couple, no-kids, looking for relaxation. And let me tell you, we were blown away. After taking in the sunset, we had a romantic dinner at The Studio where I was introduced to the best lobster risotto I’ve ever tasted and a delicious wine selection. Even if you aren’t staying at the Montage Laguna Beach, a trip to have dinner at The Studio is highly, highly recommended.
