Our Home 10 years ago D is for Demo.
I have quickly learned that renovating a house is a game of hurry up & wait.
We purchased the house last fall and it feels like we’ve been sitting around waiting for so long to start this project. Now, all of a sudden, there are so many huge changes and decisions being made on a daily basis. For example, last week the electrician came out to get the full tour to provide us with an estimate. The husband and I had to quickly decide where to put any and all plugs, light fixtures and any electrical needs.
My brain, naturally, immediately went to blow drying my hair in the bathroom and thankfully I remembered that I really want a plug inside my bathroom drawer! Needless to say this particular plug will be fixed at a later date but it’s the small things that sometimes slip through your memory during renovations that truly make a big difference in your day to day living. For example, here are a few key plug/outlet choices that I was sure to point out to our electrician.
Also, in case you’re interested, below you will find our before and after floor plans. As you can see, the addition will involve adding 400 square feet to provide a master suite {bedroom, bathroom and closet}.
Another big change {that doesn’t look so big in the plans}, is that we are busting down the wall that divides the kitchen & dining room to make one large open floor plan.
Here is a photo of the master bedroom wall that is being demo’d. “D” is for Demolition, not “Damsel” {ha!}
