Travel 13 years ago Chiang Mai {and the blog post that put me on the map}
I couldn’t help myself but to hold on to this 3 year old blog post that is the reason why I have this blog.
On our honeymoon trip, my husband and I were in Chiang Mai. I had Damsel in Dior {which was called “Jacey Lenae” at the time} as a place for my parents to see instant photos from our honeymoon trip. I was snapping away and posting daily for fun, not really thinking anything of it. The “blog” was getting about 30 hits a day which were my parents and a few friends checking in on our trip.
I took this photo of two young girls standing outside a temple in Chiang Mai. How adorable are they? They very patiently posed for me as I fumbled with my new camera I purchased just for the honeymoon. I had no clue what I was doing.
One morning I woke up to find that the site has received over 3,500 hits and I was in shock. ‘There must be a mistake!,’ I thought to myself but then I noticed over a hundred comments. WordPress had “Pressed” my blog that day {featured it} to their database of users and just like that, my blog was born. If it weren’t for WordPress featuring this first photo, the idea to start my blog would have never happened. That feature opened my eyes to the idea of putting effort into the blog, into my photos and that with original content and care…the readers will come. Well, that and a little help from WordPress!
