They say things cannot grow beneath the winter snow. Or so I’ve been told.
It definitely feels like there is a somber cover that is casting a shadow on New York City this week. It may just be my own personal affairs causing such tribulation, but it feels like time is at a stand still. It’s especially odd because I am here during New York Fashion Week which is a time that represents the changing of seasons. It is a celebration of an impending sartorialist season of new style, new moods and au courant color. However, there is a dark blue hue that is hanging over my head and I can’t quite put my finger as to why.
Perhaps what they say is true. I may just have to wait for the snow to melt and the temps to raise in order for my sprit to follow suit. But you know what!? Being the farmers daughter that I am I know that this saying is not true. Even during the winter it is vital for the soil to sleep. The winter months are as equally important as the summer harvest season because even the earth needs a break from time to time. It isn’t that things cannot grow beneath the winter snow . . . they just need some time to rest so that they can fully bloom come springtime.
