Outfits 10 years ago 7 Tips for Summer BBQ Dressing
One of my all time favorite soirées to attend is a summer BBQ.
Thankfully, the season is upon us and I’ve teamed up with Seven Daughters Wine to bring you 7 fun tips for how to dress in style for a summer BBQ!
Tip One: Layer on your style. Depending on where you live, summer nights may get chilly {and I hate} being cold. If your town has a cool breeze at sunset, be sure to add on on a light layer over a button down.
Tip Two: Lighten your mood with lighter colors. Just like you would drink a crisp white wine in the warmer months, go lighter with your make up choices as well. Opt for a nude eye and barely there foundation for a clean summery look.
Tip Three: If you are going to wear a heel, make it a kitten! Otherwise I would suggest wearing flats. Usually summer BBQ’s take place in a back yard and the last thing you want is to be playing a balancing act from getting your heels stuck in the grass.
Tip Four: Never, ever go to a summer BBQ {or any soirée for that matter} empty handed. You can’t go wrong by bringing along a bottle of white wine in your tote. My favorite? Seven Daughters Chardonnay because it truly goes well with anything!
Tip Five: Just as we take the time to dress our body, you must also give consideration to how you will dress your mind. Go into any social setting with a few talking points in your head to spice up the party. One of my recent favorites is by asking the question: “If you could have any number or word hanging above everyones head, what would you want that number/word to represent?” {i.e. How many drinks they’ve had, Or a word that describes their current mood, etc. . . }.
Tip Six: It’s a common misconception to wear a white bra with a white top. Not so! During the summer months, it is a much better idea to wear a nude bra to create an invisible look!
Tip Seven: Give your bare feet some time to adjust to the summer. If you haven’t had time to get that pedicure you’ve been itching for, then go with a close toe shoe!
