Cocktail making is where it’s at! From classics to cozy creations, here are 5 recipes to kick off your {homebound} weekend right.

Cider Punch
Hunker down by the fire with a glass {or pitcher} of this ridiculously easy and exceptionally comforting cocktail.
Ingredients
- 1 or 2 oz rum
- Apple Cider
- Cinnamon {and nutmeg if you have it on hand!}
- Ice {or drink warmed}
Directions: Add the rum and cider into the glass. Top with spices {can get creative here and even throw in a few drops of bitters if you so please}.

Salty Dog
Craving something bright and fresh? Then this is definitely your drink.
Ingredients
- 1.5 oz vodka
- 3.5 oz grapefruit juice
- Kosher salt
- Lime wedge
- Ice
Directions:
Add salt to rim of glass using lime as adhesive. Add ice, vodka and grapefruit juice. Blend for a slushy surprise.

Orange Crush
Another refreshing winner. This drink is an absolute crowd favorite!
Ingredients
- 5 oz orange juice
- 2 oz vodka
- 1 oz Triple Sec
- Splash of lemon/lime soda {i.e. Sprite}
- Orange or lime slice
- Ice
Directions:
Shake all ingredients with ice. Pour into a glass and garnish with a wedge of orange or lime.

Boozy Hot Chocolate
Coming at you with major. cozy. vibes. If you're feeling a little experimental, I urge you to try this heavenly hot chocolate. This recipe yields 2 services, so enjoy by the fire or under a blanket with good company.
Ingredients
- 2 cups milk
- 3 1/2 ounces best-quality dark chocolate, bittersweet or semisweet, as preferred
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 teaspoons honey
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons dark rum, or to taste
Directions:
Pour the milk into a saucepan with broken up pieces of chocolate. Add cinnamon stick, honey, and sugar and heat gently until chocolate is melted. To this, add vanilla and a spoonful of rum while whisking. Add more rum or sugar depending on your preferences.

Classic Margarita
Let's go back to the basics. Here's my go-to margarita recipe - so simple and oh so good.
Ingredients
- Ice
- 2 oz blanco tequila {any brand works, so pick your fav!}
- 1 oz Cointreau
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
Directions: Combine all ingredients in a shaker and add ice. Shake and strain into a salt-rimmed {if you like} glass. Garnish with lime.
