Why can’t adults have a random “Spring Break” kind of week? I spontaneously got the itch to escape on Tuesday morning after waking up to every blogger under the sun and their photos from the Chanel show at Paris Fashion Week. “Why Not?” I asked myself. After all, I would have spent three times the amount of money had I actually gone to Paris this season so I figured it was worth it. I immediately packed my bags and headed for the beach. The nicest hotel I know, Shutters, had a room available and when the reservations specialist asked how many nights, I secretly wished I could stay forever.
The weather was absolutely perfect and spirits were high. I spent the first day laying on the beach reading “The Universe Has Your Back,” a book one of my Instagram followers suggested. Both nights were spent on the patio of “Coast” eating dinner and drinking lots of wine with Polly and Grant. Usually it’s too windy and chilly to work on your tan in Santa Monica, but the sun Gods were smiling down on me as they cast a beautifully warm glow all day Wednesday.
Now it’s back to life, back to reality. But it was fun to secretly sneak away from work for a few days during the week. Plus, the forecast this weekend is cloudy which makes it that much sweeter!
Meet my new favorite beach bag by Loeffler Randall. I carried this baby up and down the beach this week and will definitely take it on my next beach day get-a-way.
